Thanks for getting in touch. Is It Safe For My Dog? is a small, independently run resource, and we genuinely read what comes in.

Email us

The best way to reach us is by email:

We aim to reply when we can, though as a small operation it may take us a little while during busy periods. Please bear with us.

What we'd love to hear about

  • Corrections. If you've spotted something on the site that's wrong, out of date, or a source link that no longer works, please tell us. Accuracy matters more to us than being right, and reader corrections make the site better for the next worried owner. The more specific you can be — which page, and what's wrong — the faster we can fix it.
  • Foods you'd like us to cover. If there's something you've wondered about that we haven't written up yet, let us know and we'll add it to the list.
  • General feedback. If a guide helped, confused, or could be clearer, we want to know.

What we can't do

We're an information resource, not a veterinary service — so there's one important thing we're not able to help with by email:

We cannot give advice about your individual dog, and we cannot help in an emergency. We don't have the veterinary training to assess your specific animal, and email is far too slow for an urgent situation. If you think your dog has eaten something dangerous, or is unwell, please contact your vet or a local animal poison service right away — not us. Two useful numbers in the US are the Pet Poison Helpline on (855) 764-7661 and the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center on (888) 426-4435 (both charge a per-incident fee). Outside the US, your own vet can direct you to the nearest service.
